Brazilian Starfish Pepper – Dehydrated

Originally cultivated in Peru, but now domesticated in Brazil. Grown on our farm in south-central Virginia, USA. This heirloom pepper has floral and fruity flavors that make it sweet. It varies in heat but is often a strong medium spicy.

Possible, but not tested, Scoville scale: strong medium heat level; 10,000-30,000 Schoville units.

FLAKED PEPPERS can be blossomed in oil for the rue base of dips, stews and sauces, releasing the full flavor. WHOLE peppers can be revitalized by a 15-minute soak in water, vinegar or a combination of both. Save the liquid for the sauce.
